We’ve got a new crush…

and it’s called VELVET. Oh so lux and glam. It’s the perfect material to match gold, dainty jewels with. Which is why I just had to have it. 

Side note – this shoot was one of my favorites! I mean, who doesn’t love a yellow VW Van? If that doesn’t have happiness written all over it, I don’t know what does.

I got a little funky with this outfit and paired up my favorite wooden clogs (that sadly aren’t being made anymore!) with my favorite pair of Madewell jeans. (side note: clogs are so underrated! I went through a phase where I wore them every single day with any outfit.) For a top I switched up the vibe of boho and went with a lux look with my new pink velvet Madewell top. Can you tell I have a thing for Madewell?!

The v neck of this top is perfect for a drop down necklace like the Guinevere Lariat.

Because the drop down mimics the shape of the v in the shirt, it’s very pleasing to the eye. Because I wanted a little more going on, I added on the Gold Rolo Choker and clasped it at the 14.5 inch mark and it looked perfect!

For rings, I love this look. One on each finger. Usually this is a rule of thumb for sizing: Pink fingers are a size 3 or 4. Next, find out the size of your ring finger and once you do that your middle finger goes up one size from that and your index finger goes up one more size from your middle. So for example: if your ring finger is a size 6, your middle is a 7 and your index is an 8. This isn’t always true for everyone, but generally it works. For my ring party I chose: the Three Gem Ring, Coin Ring, Initial A Ring, and the Hammered Band for my pinky ring. On my other hand I kept it a bit more simple with the Evil Eye Ring and Hammered Band for my pinky ring. This was a perfect mix in my opinion.

After we started shooting this outfit it was serendipitous that we found this sweet little VW van. It made our day and pretty much stole the spotlight but I’m ok with it.
