Studs 101: Mix & Match
It’s no secret that we love our dainty studs.
They are handmade in Los Angeles without nickel (ahem, that means they are hypoallergenic for all you ladies that have sensitive ears) and we push the limits on how small we can make them. The star of the show, literally, being our Little Dipper Studs, pictured below.
It’s time to mix & match!
While most of our earrings are sold in traditional pairs we just started selling our Initial Studs in singles. Since buying initial jewelry is all about getting personal, we figured you need the freedom to select two different letters without paying double. (check out our full Initials Collection here)
Even when you buy pairs of our stud earrings, we love seeing you put your own creative spin on how you style them. Let’s say you’re a cactus lover but you also have a thing for moon jewelry. Get them both! If you have two piercings in one ear you can put one in each hole (see below) or if you just have a single piercing you can put a Cactus Stud on the right and a Moon Stud on the left.
Cactus Studs + Claw Studs
Pro tip: Always put the smaller stud in the second piercing.
I’m personally a fan of starting your earring party out big and gradually making the earrings smaller as they go up your ear (that is if you have multiple piercings).
So let’s say that you wanted to put the Claw Studs with the Little Dipper Studs. I would put the Claw stud in the first piercing and then the Little Dipper stud in the second, as shown in the below picture.

Sometimes the earrings are about the same size, like the Heart Studs and the Initial K Stud (see below). If this is the case it’s really just a matter of personal preference.
