Hit Play on These Favorite KDJ Holiday Movies & Music

I love Christmas. I love eating cookies fresh out of the oven, cinnamon donuts (also freshly baked!), hot chocolate 100% with marshmallows, wearing my favorite festive jewels, and playing board games like scrabble for hours on end with my family.

But whether you’re hosting a holiday party worthy of House and Garden, or you’re keeping things simple with good food, close family, and memories to treasure (that’s totally me!)—the holiday truly is all about your own personal take on tradition.

But if watching movies and listening to a classic holiday playlist is your thing 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️then I’ve made a list of my all-time favorites to get you into the holiday spirit while you get busy decking your halls!

Katie’s Must-Have Holiday Movies 🍿🍿🍿

I am a total sucker for a cheesy holiday movie—it’s such a great excuse to put your feet up, snuggle under a blanket, and soak up the season’s festivities. Here are my top picks!

A .gif of Buddy the elf jumping across the street in a scene from the movie "Elf".

Elf—Put simply, Elf never gets old! Plus, I mean, Will Ferrell! Seriously—it could be 100 years from now into the future and I’d still be laughing watching this movie!

A .gif of the scene from the movie "Love Actually" where Hugh Grant is dancing across the hallway.

Love Actually—I only discovered this movie about three or four years ago (I know! I know!) and since then, I have naturally become obsessed with it (if I’m honest, I watch this throughout the year lol)!

A .gif of the scene from the movie "The Holiday" where Cameron Diaz drinks wine straight from the bottle.

The Holiday —Christmas doesn’t officially start until I’ve watched The Holiday! As far as Christmas movies go, The Holiday is pretty close to perfect: charming, rom-com, self-empowerment, and nostalgic.

A .gif of the scene from "Home Alone" where Macaulay Culkin puts aftershave on his face and screams in the mirror.

Home Alone—Home Alone is infused with frivolous merriment, sentimentalism, music, and snow and it all takes place during the days counting down to Christmas. Say no more!

Katie’s Must-Have Holiday Playlist 🎄🎶🎄🎶

I'm currently loving these albums which I've been listening to on Amazon Prime's Streaming Music Service. :)

And for the classic singles—you simply can’t go past putting this classic selection on repeat:

  • Bing Crosby, Silver Bells
  • Mariah Carey, All I want for Christmas
  • Bing Crosby, I'll be home for Christmas
  • Michael Buble, It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
  • Bing Crosby, Joy to the World

XOXO,
