My 3 Tips For Healthy Living
I have a very busy life. I’m constantly on the go — driving, flying, heading to meetings, designing new pieces, constructing the new pieces and working events for the line. About a year and half ago I was started to get burnt out physically. I noticed that I was getting really tired by mid day and it was hard for me to stay productive.
That’s when I knew I had to change something.
It took me a solid 6 months to fully get into my new routine and turn my bad habits into old news but persistence pays off and I’m now in the best shape of my life!
I want others to have the physical ability to go out and do what you want to do in life so below I’m sharing my top 3 tips for how to stay high energy even when you have a high pace life.
1. Healthy Greens. I knew that to keep my energy high I needed to plan out at least one meal a day (preferably two) that were high in greens. I do this with a big salad or lightly sautéed veggies. When I discovered sweetgreen, it was the answer to my prayers. A place I could go to at a moments notice and order up a fresh, custom salad that had everything I needed for a high nutrition meal. Because I was such a huge fan I’m now a sweetgreen Ambassador! (which basically means I do what I’ve already been doing: telling everyone I know about this amazing spot) Since I’m going a mile a minute, I love using their app to order my custom salads to go so I can pick up without waiting. Leave a comment below if you want to give it a try!
2. Pilates 3x / Week. This is a MUST for me. The more I work out the MORE energy I have. I know it sounds crazy but it’s so true. I had a hard time keeping this routine in but after I got in the groove it became fun and the benefits are numerous. I sleep better, I feel better, and it helped curb my sweet tooth (thank goodness!). My favorite place in LA right now is FitMix — I take their ‘Mashup’ class so I get cardio and pilates.
3. Drink Lots Of Water. It’s bananas how much water can turn around a headache or skin blemishes. I make it a point to drink a cup of water right when I get up and for every coffee I drink, I try to drink twice the amount in water. I suggest carrying around a water bottle with you every where you go. The more you have it with you the more you’ll drink.
There you have it! I hope these three tips help you to get to your healthiest yet!
